Ultracet description and instructions for application

Ultracet is a combined anesthetic agent containing Tramadol and Acetaminophen. Is Ultracet a narcotic? It’s an opioid analgesic, which helps for severe and all natural pain relief. The substance Tramadol and its metabolites have the ability to activate so-called m-opiate receptors. Also, the compound activates non-opioid receptors through membrane hyperpolarization in spinal cord synapses and spinal neurons. It has the following effects on the brain and spinal cord: hyperpolarizes membranes and blocks pain impulses, helps to open sodium and calcium channels, strengthens the effects of soothing.

In patients aged (over 75 years), the interval between pills application is increased without changing the dosage. And in the case of violations in patients with kidney function (creatinine clearance from 10 to 30 ml / min), it should be at least 12 hours. If the patient is on chronic dialysis – after taking additional medication is not required, because Tramadol is almost not eliminated as a result of dialysis and hemofiltration. In the case of hepatic insufficiency, the interval of admission is increased, and with pronounced hepatic pathologies, they are not prescribed at all.
